Laser Tag!
For months, I've wondered how Cody would react to the laser pointers. Since he doesn't respond to dogs in television episodes, I thought Cody would be way too smart to be fooled by a laser pointer. Yesterday, when I was at Pet Club, I saw the laser pointers and tested them out while Cody was with me. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Cody was fascinated by the laser point. He would follow it around, try to sneak up on it, and then pounce! Sometimes he would try to catch it with his mouth, but he never found success at catching this "point".
The greatest thing (other than getting him to run around and giving me minutes of good hearty laughter), is that I can actually get him to heel and follow me when I have the laser pointer. Amazing how he will focus on one point enough to get me from one end of the parking lot to another.
Since this is only day 2 of laser pointer fun, I don't know if this'll last. As it is, Cody has already noticed that I'm holding something in my hands each time this mysterious point shows up and he's been sniffing and looking at it. I figure that this "fun" will at least last a few days. Then, I can put it away and bring it out again in a month when hopefully he'll be just as excited about the laser point as he has been the last couple of days.

A big man with a white beard and a very loud laugh may emerge from your fireplace in the middle of the night. Don't bite him.
