Mutt Strut

Cody and I attended a Mutt Strut last week in San Mateo. There were booths, a couple of flyball and agility exhibitions, and a 1K or 3K walk to raise money for the Peninsula Humane Society.

Cody had a lot of fun and we signed up to learn more about flyball. He was a little exhausted between visiting all the booths, and meeting so many other dogs and people. He even met another Vizsla named Daisy!

During the actual 3K walk, Cody was determined to be the leader. In general, when Cody and I go running, if he sees a bike or another runner, he usually tries to pull to catch up and barks in frustration. Unfortunately, the 3K walk was no different. However, I normally make him sit for about 30 seconds the minute he starts barking as he watches the lead get farther and farther away. What this meant at the 3K was that we spent a lot of time waiting on the sidelines sitting. Either way, we had a lot of fun and were so exhausted that both of us enjoyed some afternoon naps.
