Cody and the Treadmill

Since I've had boxes on the treadmill for the last few months, Cody hasn't been exercising on the treadmill for awhile. I've recently cleaned our place and Cody spent a nice 5 minutes on the treadmill (albeit, unwilling). This is how he looked afterwards. If you see his nice long legs, you'd also wonder why he's so against any type of walking or running, even if it's on a treadmill. (Hey, better than nothing, right?)

Appropriate Greetings

This post is not specifically dog-related. I may be spending way too much time with my canine friend, but I was thinking about the differences and similarities between human and canine greetings.

I always found it a little odd, and a bit embarrassing at times, when Cody greets dogs and humans by sniffing, well, you've all seen it.

In the past week, I've had many encounters from meeting new people in various situations. I've found that we do about the same as humans. Checking each other out subtley, whether it be interviewing, meeting people in bars or dating situations, or just new co-workers or friends of friends. There's always that little "test", whether it be conscious or subconscious where you're judging the other person by your own standards. That is, after all, why first impressions are so important.

Especially when meeting new people, I've found that I "test" the other person by asking questions and seeing what kind of answers they have. I also tell stories to show the "better" side of me. In essence, I feel like I'm interviewing the other person and being interviewed at the same time. Then again, maybe this is just me and I spend way too much analyzing this kind of stuff.

I should just spend more time running and hiking with Cody instead. I know he'd probably prefer it :)

Good Golly Miss Molly

Before I start, today Cody is exactly 2 and a half. Boy how time flies! Anyways, Cody and I had Molly over as a guest a couple of weeks ago and Cody and Molly had some fun times at the Los Gatos Creek. (No, Cody has still not learned to swim. He just tromps through the water like he does with tall bushes. Maybe this summer he'll finally learn how to "dog paddle")

Here are some pictures:
